Arragons Cycle Hire at Lowther Castle

Our hire centre is staffed from March to October from Thursday to Sunday.  We are open to pre booked hires over Winter.  If you would like to cycle the trails, please book ahead and we will be delighted to welcome you.

We began offering Cycle Hire from the beautiful surroundings of Lowther Castle in July 2018. The venture coincided with the launch on the Lowther Estate of a network of dedicated cycling and walking trails enabling visitors, particularly families, to enjoy the beautiful terrain of the Lowther Estate in Cumbria. We've been honoured to collaborate with Lowther Castle & Gardens to launch Arragon's Cycle Hire and are proud to be associated with this amazing attraction, offering a selection of E-Bikes, all terrain bikes & some super light children's bikes to hire.  

Visitors are able to hire a range of bikes, from trail bikes (Marin Bobcat Trail) for junior riders, superlight mountain bikes (Saracen Mantra) to a selection of pedal assist electric bikes (Scott Aspect with Bosch motor) ideal for anyone who cannot face the more uphill stretches of the Lake District.

In 2022 we launched a new service - Arragons Cycle Hire Delivered where we encourage car free exploration.  We will deliver to your accommodation either Gazelle Ultimate with industry leading motors capable of covering in excess of 50 miles in one charge - or alternatively - our lightweight Marin pedal assist bikes are perfect for discovering the area, either up to 20 miles on full power, or up to 40+ miles if you are more economical with the power.
